This 15-minute morning yoga will help you start the day fresh
If you ask me, there is no better way to start the day than morning yoga. Regardless of whether I need to feel grounded or more energetic, the right flow of poses always helps me to tune in to my breath and body.
Yoga can be a particularly strong practice for everyone who deals with anxiety and depression - and I find that before busy or stressful days I turn to yoga to feel more balanced and focused.
It has also been proven that brain body therapy, like yoga, reduces inflammation and strengthens the immune system.
And, yes, if you're interested, morning yoga also challenges your body (chair position is no joke!) so that you can move throughout the day mentally and physically stronger and more flexible. It starts with a few warm-up positions, goes through the Vinyasa sequence that you repeat on each side and then ends.
Duration: 15 minutes.
Instructions: Flow from posture to posture listed below, holding and breathing as indicated. After completing the 5 to 12 posture on the right side, repeat on the left side before continuing. Do this exercise to move intuitively. If you want to feel calm during the day, keep the movement slow and gentle. If you want to feel energetic, pick up a faster and hotter pace as you move forward. The beauty of yoga is that it can be all you need!
